Applicants are considered on the basis of academic performance, occupational history, professional potential, level of maturity, and concern for others. Accepted students should possess communication skills, an ability to establish positive relationships, maturity, and integrity, and must demonstrate a commitment to holistic health care.
Applicants who request a transfer from another program must meet all admission requirements, including fees. Transfer students may matriculate at the beginning of any module.
Academic credit earned for courses appearing on an official transcript from a Department of Education accredited or candidate for accreditation college or College will be evaluated according to College policies and accepted subject to approval of the Dean of Education/Chief Academic Officer.
The possibility of transfer credit can be determined only during the admissions process. No credit will be given for any transfer credit after the first trimester a student attends the College. The College Dean of Education / Chief Academic Officer will examine foreign courses with the assistance of a foreign transcript agency. Only those courses in which a "C" or higher grade is earned will be considered for evaluation for the Therapeutic Massage Programs. All foreign coursework must meet standards approved by the National Council on the Evaluation of Foreign Education Credentials. Applicants must request a subject analysis transcript evaluation by the International Transcript Evaluation Service. This evaluation must include grades, hours and equivalencies.
A course description and/or syllabus may be submitted for each course being evaluated. Coursework must have been taken within ten years prior to application. Courses older than ten years may require a challenge examination with the appropriate fees before credits are accepted. The faculty member and the department chair or dean of education will determine transferability of coursework on a case-by-case basis. The College reserves the right in all cases to require a competency and/or evaluation or challenge examination, which may result in an additional fee.
